30 magical houses, biscuits and bakes
Turn your kitchen into a winter world with Gingerbread Wonderland. With recipes ranging from simple gingerbread families to more detailed projects such as six different house recipes and even a gingerbread wreath, Mima Sinclair’s new cookbook is suitable for the whole family. It’s packed with fun biscuits and sticky gingerbread cakes, plus handy tips on how to avoid mistakes, making templates, cutting perfect lines and more. As well as the traditional Christmas favourites such as a Hansel & Gretel House, there are contemporary creations such as Mini Coffee Cup Houses, Glass Pressed Cookies and a 3D Christmas Tree. Make perfect treats to slip into lunch boxes, serve up to friends at tea, give as gifts or show off as your holiday centrepiece.
With a Scottish father born in Calcutta, who lived in Italy and has a fine wine company, and a Dutch mother who lived in Trinidad and thinks chocolate sprinkles are a suitable toast topping (its a Dutch thing) its no surprise that Mima Sinclair has developed a keen interest in foods of the world and a rather sweet tooth.
After completing a photography degree she turned her interests to food styling. Once trained she assisted many leading food stylists before joining the food team at Seven where she honed her skills writing recipes, testing, developing and food styling for numerous Sainsbury’s magazines and cook books.
Since going freelance she writes, tests, develops and food styles for stills, video, publishing, packaging and editorial projects.
